Powell House is the conference and retreat center of New York Yearly Meeting. It has two facilities, hiking trails, ponds, a campground, several fire circles, and a pavilion, all located on a 52-acre ground. At our Retreat, opportunities will be available to walk & talk with friends in unity with nature, worship or meditate in small numbers or as a community, explore the country around Old Chatham, sing along or paint, draw, whistle on your own or with others, enter light discussion or serious sharing etc.

Powell House is a drug- and alcohol-free place, and smoking is restricted to certain areas. Child-care is provided. Bring your comfort items/change of clothes/toothbrush/earplugs for the snoring-sensitive(private rooms are limited). Powell House supplies towels, sheets etc. A rented commercial bus will leave from 2nd Avenue and 15th Street at 2:30 PM on Friday, and leave from Powell House after lunch on Sunday at 2:00 PM to arrive back at Fifteenth Street by early evening.

Several cars driven by meeting members/attenders will be going up and returning at slightly different times and departure points. Rates for the retreat, including transportation to and from Powell House, food, lodging and the rest are $200 for adults, $80 for youth 2-17 years, and $40 for ages 2 and under. Rates are the same for those driving up as for those taking the bus.
